This is a weld in neck, yes it will fit your stock tank if you chop the thing and weld this in.

Winters coming

and I'm hating it already. This year sucked weather wise, we really didn't get that much riding weather. Yesterday we got 2 runs in at Forks before the it rained, it fryed out just enought to get some VHT on the track and get the eliminations started and then it pored and we went home. Video later, maybe.

I met the rider of this very nice '74 BMW R90/6 yesterday, its all original and a great runner, he picked up a screw and maybe something else and the bike is now lounging in my yard. Its nice to see other riders packing tools and other suplies to fix there bikes on the road.

More Push Rods show and shine...

My buddy Butch M nice little ride, he put a 350hp 327cid all cammed up with a 5 speed behind it and now its a little squirly, nice clean ride.

Matt from the local indy shop had his drag bike there along with an electric powered bicycle project, nice old iron head that goes like a raped ape.

An English Ford drag car, damn nice rig.

Lots of great rides.

A shot from the stands, the show is held in the Historic Olympic Stadium in Hoquaim, there were over 150 rigs, from the very early 1900's to new, traditional rides to overdone billet bullshit, they got something for everyone. Great show, check it out next year if your around. One of the best parts was it was FREE to walk in and check out the rides, you cant beat a deal like that.

I got in the shop early yesterday morning and got some work done so I could get away and check this out. This is my hometowns biggest car show and I've never been, they have a Friday night get together that I usualy hit after work but man have I been missing the big show. So the weathers been nice and there are lots of bikes out and thats great BUT I have noticed a trend that is killing me. One of my peaves is apehangers and a windshield, and now they're everywhere, and the worst part is most of the bars are taller than the window WTF! Figure out who you want to be! I wonder if this is a new h@g trend. Someone let me know.

on the Smoking gun. I got a chance to get it out of the living room for an hour or two yesterday. I wont be using a the solo, I just stuck it up there to look. I need to finish the oil bag mounts and get them welded, then its onto the brakes. Its coming along slowly, mosly because of having to work alot lately and thats nothing to bitch about.

I saw on one of the news recyclers pages, the pic is a APF file. To bad its not leagal in WA, I'll get caught some day and thats life.

I got some welding on my oil tank done yesterday, got the ends tacked on and thats about it. I've been working on a top sEcrect project and think I may finish it today, some welding, a little pounding and some grind and polish, if not today, sometime this week.

I picked up a new-to-me masher yesterday at a yard sale, 8lb sledge for $3. You dont need lots of money to collect tools and make cool shit just keep an eye out for them at the right places.

Another Sunday ride

Pics from last Sunday. My Bride, Daughter and I took a ride up to Merryman Falls. A nice short ride and the falls are right along side the county road, most people drive right by and never see them.

Cutting firewood and taking care of some other chores this weekend, the weather is cool and good for working but I still wish we were riding.

A little update, the Flyrite is a roller now, the neckcups came in last week and my son and I got them put in, I cut some spacers for the front wheel and its on too, woo hoo. I have been working on the oil bag a little but my day job has left little time to work on things during the week. When the weather gets good again, I'll roll it outside and get some pics, maybe I has the oil bag so I can put it on to see what it looks like.

So yesterday I took the bride and daughter for a ride, I have kicked around an idea of putting a small run together, something similar to what the El Diablo was from Cali or the Gypsy rum on the Eastcoast, we checked out a location and I think it will be great, even if I am the only mofo on the mountain. Its pretty remote by most standards, the cell phone coverage is so sporadic that I would be driving and get text from my son that he had sent an hour before, its a great place. Anyway I know a few guys that will go and may even post this on a few boards. More later, but if you are interested in coming or helping out get ahold of me.

There are 3 campgrounds in the area, we only got to 2 of them, this is my favorite.

The shelter, located almost in the center of the campground.

A larger camping spot, this is one of about 8 areas.

Chickenhead

This is the chickenhead rock. Its a rock that's just the right shape, someone painted it up and set it on a stump, I thought it was pretty cool.

I started working on the oil bag, got the main tank finished and and working on hammering out the ends, I have one done and now need to go hammer out the other, make a few bungs but its coming along. I'll get some pics of a play by play when I get closer to having it finished.

For a while. I am going to try and concentrate on the SG build, I have most of the parts to get it to a roller. I now need to start putting it together, finish the gas tank and build or get a oil tank and modify it to work how I want. I wish I had time and content to update the blog more often but I dont. This summer should provide more content, Beck and I will be taking 2 weeks and traveling on our bikes to Idaho and Montana maybe Wyoming and Utah so that should give me some good pics to put up, maybe even while we are away, if I can figure out how to update with my cell. Work has been WFO the last week, I'll take it, I have a feeling it isn't going to last much longer. We've been slowing WAY down and it may come to a screaching halt for some time, we shall see.

I took this pic out the window with my cellphone the other night on my way home from work, at 65 mph. Kalaloch is a beautiful place.

Aluminum filler necks, some of them are spoken for, I will make the caps and get them finished soon, the others will have caps made and be listed for sale here as I have time, I also have some more steel necks that need caps, they will be listed here to, same deal.

Not much new on the smokin gun project, it is in its own little corner of the living room begging for attention like everything else. I have the material to finish the gas tank so I may get some of that done this weekend, maybe....................... probably not, its supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow and Beck wants to go for a ride.

Good---- I got the wheel for the SG project, it was a great Bastard deal from DFB, thanks man. To bad its over shadowed but finding out this morning that a buddy of mine, Roni, was killed at work yesterday. We never worked for the same outfit but worked together quite a bit. He was a great guy that worked hard and earned his keep, leaving behind a wonderful bride and two children. The job we do can be boring at times but is high stress and can be high danger, yesterday we had some pretty ugly weather and that never makes the work any easier sometimes deadly. RIP Roni, log hard!

First off if you're still checking my blog, thanks, you must be really bored or enjoy the freak shows at the circus. I'd like to appoligise to you for not updating, I have been slammed at work and working on a few side projects so not much time on the web. My new frame should be delivered tomorrow, maybe I should call in sick. Even if I had the frame I wouldn't have any time to work so it hasn't been a distraction to me. I am trying to finish up a few projects then maybe I can start focusing on the new one, or maybe it will get set in the corner and I will spend all spring and summer riding and say"F^CK it" stay tuned.

This is a little project I finished up a while back and didn't post about, Nate seems like a great guy and was great to deal with, thank you Nate it was a pleasure. This is a little something that I do on the side in a littel place called the "choppin' shack" my kid called it that a few years ago and it been fun, we may have a few things this year that we'll market, depends on how it goes, how lazy I am and my day job or I may just leave it in the corner and spend the spring and sum..................you know the story.

A new project for the New Year

I ordered a new frame from Flyrite Choppers http://flyritechoppers.com/ the other day, I have really liked the bikes that have been built on this frame, I'll see if I can be the first to build one I don't like.

I'll try and chronicle the build on here as I get work done and have time to post. I have been collecting parts for a few years to put together a rigid, nothing major but its usually the little things that sneak up on you. I'll make some parts and find the others.

Here is the blank canvas, the Smoking Gun for Evo Sportster motors. Picture was stolen from Flyrites web page.

The only thing that I have in mind to do is long shotgun drags, maybe with fishtail tips or maybe not, I do like the combo. I have a few tanks and will probably go with a Frisco style sporty tank, but may consider a mustang style too. Lots of choices and things to decide on.

I haven't updated the blOg in a while, things have gotten crazy, I was layed off for a littel while and trying to catch up on some projects then we got dumped on with snow and my shop was all but froze up, then they called me back to work for a few days so I really havent had much time to do anything especialy on the intraweb, thats how life works LOL. I am off for a few days so I may dig out my shop and get in there tomorrow and try getting a few things done.

I am working on a tank for my scooter with a little Frisco flavor, I had the filler neck and cap made for about two weeks, I just need to do some welding and decide how I am going to finish it. I also am in the process of making a neck and cap for another guy who puts my tank choppin' to shame.

Yeah I know I need to clean my work bench off, I work in there, when I get time.

NOT. It warmed up to about 28* today and when the sun went down the temp went with it. I was going to do some work in the shop tonight and found this nice little shot, I took a couple a pics straightened some things out and went indside, it was 21* in there, screw that shit. I suppose it wouldn't be bad if we were somewhere east but we live 15 miles from the Pacfic Ocean. We got about 5" of snow yesterday and now they are talking just cold till tomorrow night and then snow for a few more days and cold for atleast the next week, I want my summer back.

I think, its was 30* out this morn after raining and blowing most of yesterday.

I took these pics this spring up at Lake Quinault. Every once in a while Beck and I jump on the bikes, run up and have a coke maybe get a cup of coffee and visit my cousin that works at the resturant there, its a nice short ride, maybe 40 miles round trip. A good way to kill and afternoon.

That aint spaghetti its krout, I stopped back by to ask my buddy a question and we were talking about the scooter, ghe kid that brought it in didn't know much about his own bike. It has a manufacturers tag on the front, it was made in Germany and not a Italian bike after all. Someone has hacked it up pretty bad, at one time it was fully suspended the front had fork boots and everything but it has been made solid, the back has been chopped up and had what look like the rear struts from a bicycle added and the swing arm welded, either way the tank is cool, if a guy moved the filler neck and got a dual ribbed rear fender you could have some cool assed chopper parts. Now the kid wants to sell it.

In late July we headed to the desert of E Wa to attend the 100 years motor cycle rally in Spokane. The rally sucked, major police activities 24 hours a day and lots of no shows or advertised vendors that weren't signed up, we wont be going back. There were some cool bikes and cool people.

This bike is being built by Steve(I'm bad with last names), he works for Irish Rich, both of them are super cool and build great stuff.

What can I say, Kutty put this one together for his dad "Bones" Noteboom, sweet ride, check out the front fender.

To nice to be working cutting wood so we cut a little, got it split and then took off on the bikes. We have had better weather this weekend than we did alot of the summer, the evenings cool off faster and its slower to warm up in the morn but its been great riding in the afternoons, I take it.

We grabbed some lunch stuff at the grocery store and snapped this with the cell phone.

I through some paint on my bike finally, after doing Becks paint and motor I didn't have the time to do what I wanted on my paint this summer. But it give me more time to think about things and try a few others. I have a 2.2 gallon tank like this one that I will frisco and then I'll paint like this or something real similar. I will stripe the rear fender too, I just run out of time and good weather so I never put stripes on it. Its pretty laid back and that's what I wanted, just one continuous stripe.

Yep that's what he asked us as we pulled into the pumps last Saturday evening. We stopped to get gas at a station that is on a reservation on the North coast. It's pretty isolated from the rest of the world and is very laid back. I was very hesitant to answer him, you know trick questions and all, but after he started digging up his sleeve I said "sure" and then he whips it out. He let it crawl on his head, in his ear and then said "it tries to go up my nose but I am afraid it will get in my belly and eat my food". He found out I had a camera and asked me to take a picture of him, he looked at it on my camera and approved it, he hung out while I gassed up the bikes and walked with me when I moved them over to the parking spot chatting and telling me about his snake.

There were plenty of bikes there but only about 6 racing, they need about 6 to 10 more to really get things going for the bikes. They have been twisting my arm for a while and I may be in the fray next year. If we can get Beck to race her bike that will give then 2 more. If you have a scooter, HD, Ricer or whatever and ever wanted to run it down the track, come on up.

I couldn't resist taking this one "Bad ass Choppa guy" Matt is a cool guy and a good racer, I just happened to catch him on his pit bike.

The Destroyer, what more do I need to say, the guy who runs it is a great guy.

I screwed off after work today instead of cutting wood or doing one of the many chores that need to be done before winter sets in. It was warm out and I had been wanting to try some designs on this tank. It turned out OK, when I get the other one Frisco'd I will spend more time and do a nice job on the paint, this one will get me by. Now all I need is some warn weather to shoot some clear on this, keep your fingers crossed.

A weekend in Eastern WA

Beck, Sasha, Wes and I headed to E Wa last Friday for the weekend. We got to spend some time with Becks Grandma and some time in the mountains, where we are headed for hunting season.
